Paris Fashion Week
Ah Paris. Home of fashion legends, and the legendary Fashion Week.
Paris Fashion Week is held semi-annually in Paris, France with Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter events held each year. Dates are determined by the French Fashion Federation. Currently, Fashion Week is held in the Carrousel du Louvre, an underground shopping mall in by the Louvre museum and the Place du Carrousel, as well as at various other venues throughout the city.
Paris Fashion Week is part of the Big 4 fashion weeks internationally, the others being London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. The schedule begins with New York, followed by London, and then Milan, and ending the events in Paris.

Men’s Fashion from Wednesday, January 15th to Sunday, January 19th, 2014
Haute Couture from Monday, January 20th to Thursday, January 23rd, 2014
Ready to Wear from Tuesday, February 25th to Wednesday, March 5th, 2014
Men’s Fashion from Wednesday, June 25th to Sunday, June 29th, 2014

The RTW dates is where most of the action occurs.
Aside from anticipating the latest and greatest from designers such as Balenciaga, Roland Mouret, Dries Van Noten, Isabel Marant and Saint Laurent, who will showcase their latest wares on the runway, the street style at Paris Fashion Week never disappoints. Paris Fashion Week is where hardcore fashion enthusiasts go to be seen.
Paris Fashion Week is the place to be.
While I have been to shows at NY Fashion Week, and most recently, Argentina Fashion Week, I have never experienced fashion week in Paris. I am currently setting the gears in motion to change that!

Tickets to Paris (CDG) from New York (JFK) during the RTW showing this fall (Tuesday, September 24th to Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013) will run about $820. Paris has a range of hotel options to choose from ranging in prices from mid $100s to well over $500/night for some of the swankiest accommodations around town. Hotels in Paris tend to be on the more expensive side, so if you have some hotel points, this is a good time to use them! Once you’re situated, getting around should be no problem as Paris has one of the most advanced metro systems in the world and an abundance of taxis you can flag in the street like a true Parisian.
I’m yet undecided if I want to go then or wait for the spring. I am more partial towards Fall fashions (which shows in the spring), so I may defer to then.
Either way, Paris Fashion Week is in my imminent future!
